This 4 Days Murchison Falls Adventure & Wildlife Safari will take you to Murchison Falls National Park. Actually, its Uganda’s most visited savannah park as well as the largest park in Uganda. Murchison falls is the most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa. Here, the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge and finally plunges with a thunderous roar into the “Devils cauldron”. This safari will basically give you enough time to see all that the great Murchison Falls national park has to offer. These include; game drives exposing you to lots of animals and a boat cruise where you will be able to come across aquatic animals. However, before you proceed to the park, you will visit the Ziwa rhino sanctuary. As a matter of fact, this is the only place in Uganda that harbors these endangered white rhinos. While here, you will do your on-foot rhino tracking.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park-Rhino Tracking-Top of the falls
After your morning breakfast, you will be picked by one of our drives and thereafter start on your journey. You will head to the magnificent Murchison Falls National Park also Uganda’s largest park with lots of natural wonders. Have your first stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and here you will be able to do your on-foot rhino tracking. Note that, the time taken depends on their location. After the tracking, you will embark on your journey, have a stopover in Masindi for lunch and afterwards continue with your journey
Day 2: Morning game drive-Afternoon Boat cruise at the bottom of the falls
Having your breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your packed lunch. It will be a great time as you look out for various animal species. These include; buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, lions, antelopes, oribis, Jackson’s hartebeest, Uganda kobs, etc. Also watch out for different bird species like the hornbills, ox-peckers, etc. After the game drive, you will be driven direct to the dock in preparation for an afternoon boat cruise.
Day 3: Delta Nile Boat Cruise-Boomu Women’s Cultural Group
Early morning departure from the lodge with picnic Lunch and transfer to catch the morning boat at the Nile Delta. While on this boat cruise, you will spot several herds of buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Giraffes, Elephants, etc. Birders will be in for a greatest birding experience during the boat ride. Here, you will come across a variety of birds like the shoebill stork, saddled billed stork, etc. Therefore, have your binoculars and camera ready for memorial photos.
Upon arrival in the park, you will start with your first activity, a walk to the top of the falls. Here, the Nile waters make its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream into the Victoria Nile. In fact, this place is good for memorable pictures and taking in the sounds and sights. Therefore, be ready to take as many photos here and videos for memories to take back home. Afterwards, check in your booked accommodation.
While on the cruise, you will be able to view different water animals like the crocodiles and hippos. Some animals will be spotted at the banks of the river as they quench their thirst; like elephants and water bucks. Also expect to see different bird species like the red-throated bee-eaters, kingfishers, martial eagles, etc. Additionally, you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls while at the base of the falls. Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while on this 3 hour’s adventurous activity. Afterwards, head back to your accommodation.
Afterwards, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and a lunch break, and then proceed to the Boomu women’s group. The group basically offers an up-close and personal peek into a Ugandan village’s customs, traditions, and lifestyle. Embrace the chance to create a Ugandan-style meal, where the flavors and aromas come alive. You can as well engage in African crafts such as bead work, basket weaving, or clothe making. Here, you will also interact with the local people by listening to old tales as well as enjoy their songs and dances. Feel free to take photos and videos and some souvenirs for memories back home. Later, head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
Enjoy your breakfast and later check out of the lodge to start your journey back home. It will be a great time viewing various animal species as you drive through the park. However, most of them will be seen in the grasslands feeding. You will en-route lunch in Masindi and later back on the road for a late evening arrival in Kampala/Entebbe.
