VEHICLE HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
While hiring a vehicle with Entebbe Airport Taxi Services, there are terms and conditions put in place to make the acquisition of the services and these are as below:
1. Identification
The hirer or the client has to identify him/her. This is done by presenting your valid identification card in form of a Passport or National I.D. In addition, the hirer is supposed to prove that he/she is eligible to driving a vehicle and this is done by presenting a valid driving license and if it is not a Ugandan driving license, its printings should be in English or French languages since they can easily be comprehended by the authorities.
2. Rental agreement
For a hirer to acquire a vehicle from the rental company, he/she has to read and endorse on the vehicle rental agreement that is issued to him/her upon meeting with the delivery boy.
3. Contacts
No third party shall be involved in the rental vehicle business. In essence the person that contacts the rental company must be present while picking up the vehicle from the delivery boy at the rental point.
4. Vehicle usage
Upon hiring the rental vehicle, the hirer must only use the vehicle for the purpose he/she indicated in the agreement. He/she shall not use it for purposes of transporting other passengers with intentions of being paid.
5. Insurance
All the rental vehicles provided to our clients have comprehensive insurance that covers for all the damages that may occur to it under uncontrollable circumstances. However, the damages that occur to the passengers and the driver in the vehicle are not catered for. The operator’s Insurance Policy Carters for only the Vehicles and doesn’t provide Personal Life Insurance for the occupant so you’re required to come with life insurance from home country. This Insurance does not cover any damage caused by negligence such as driving under the influence of alcoholism, wheels/trims, cigarette burns (Our vehicles are all non-smoking), punctures, damage to radio covers, badges etc.
6. Cross boarder insurance
The hirer must not attempt to take the vehicle across the border without the consent of the operator because our vehicles are insured only in Uganda. The hirer must buy COMESA insurance at the border for the rental period.
7. Destinations
The hirer must disclose the itinerary is wishing to take while using the vehicle that includes the destination, purpose and the duration is wishing to use and the Vehicle to be driven on any roads is prohibited (off-tracking especially in National Parks).
8. Mechanical repairs and accidents
• If the Vehicle is involved in an accident, is damaged, breaks down or requires repair regardless of cause, the Hirer must notify the Operator of the full circumstances immediately.
• The Hirer must not arrange or undertake any repairs or leave the scene of accident before police inspection or without the Operator’s authority.
• If the vehicle requires repair or replacement, the operator must arrange repairs to the vehicle or arrange a replacement vehicle within a reasonable time frame (24Hours), provided that the operator will not be required to repair or replace the vehicle if it was damaged while being operated in a manner which breaches this agreement.
9. Payments
The hirer must make full payment of the car hire services before setting off for his/her journey. This can be done on the day of picking up the vehicle or before picking up the vehicle. The payment can also be made through cash or bank transfer in an acceptable currency i.e the US Dollars, Euros and Uganda shilling.
CAR RENTAL CHECKLIST
1. Required
Make sure you have the following identification:
• A valid passport or national identification and a photo copy too.
• An original valid driving license (with a photocopy).
• If your license is not in English, you will need to have your driver’s license translated by your local road authority or apply for an international driver’s license.
2. Vehicle collection
• In case of any delay, endeavor to call let us know the time you will be arriving other than the agreed time. It is best to send us your flight details before traveling so that we can monitor your flight schedule.
• Read the car rental agreement thoroughly and please do not hesitate to ask in case of anything you have not understood.
• Make a full payment of the car rental services before setting off for your journey. In addition, a receipt and a copy of the car rental agreement should always be given to you.
3. Returning the vehicle
a. Delayed return
For every hour a rental vehicle is delayed, you are charged 1/3 of the daily rate, and if it’s more than 3 hours delayed, it is counted as an extra day.
b. Early return
There are no refunds given to a client following the return of a vehicle before the specified time or date as written in the rental agreement.
c. Vehicle Condition
Vehicles should be returned at exactly the same condition they were hired. Special cleaning if required comes with additional charges.
d. Fuel policy
Vehicles are not hired with full fuel tanks, so clients should return them with fuel the same way it was at the pickup and if vehicle is returned with more fuel than at pick up, expect zero refunds. However, clients might request for prepaid full fuel tank during their booking time.
AREAS WHERE THE CLIENT IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED ON THE VEHICLE
• Over speeding.
• Damage to the vehicle caused under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Single-vehicle accidents or rollovers due to over speeding.
• Damage to the vehicle caused carelessness and reckless driving.
• Driving in restricted areas or roads, especially in national parks.
